Officer reports

NOTE: Elections are coming up.

What have you accomplished over the last month, what are you going to do next, are there any roadblocks/risks.

President - Went to RoundHouse open house. Startup weekend at Exchange 202 co-working spaces at the end of August. They are hosting a workshop. Went to AIGA meeting, and they have been sharing our events on social media. Diane Gibbs at USA offered to help with giving classes and marketing consulting. Went to Container Yard talk to meet them.

Vice President - Thanks for the work on the open house party. In September, Library makerspace will start to open on Monday nights. Josh will come down and man it on these nights for them. He is asking for help if anyone can come down.

Secretary - USA SoC alumni event end of August/early September. Want to build a project.

Treasurer - $584.64 income. $587 expenses, including the open house. $1744.88 in the bank and PayPal.

Marketing - David's picture of the splicer mask are very popular on twitter and instagram. Facebook posts being shared by AIGA and others has greatly increased viewing rates. Sent two emails out about membership and rates. Please use Meetup to RSVP to events. This helps build visibility.

Membership - Dauphin Island Sea lab members have not been here recently. Eldon Dugan has also been absent for a while. Ellen and Terry have joined since last month.

New Business

Party Recap - what worked, what should we do differently. June/July is too hot for many. Consider Spring time. Arduino and Raspberry Pi workshops were in high demand, need to run them more often. Space was too small for the amount of people and projects we had. We had twice as much food as we needed. Need a dedicated runner for food, and a dedicated raffle person. Starting Every 2nd Saturday at 2pm Arduino classes hosted by Rick, to take the place of the now defunct SALUG meetings Dana brought in the controller for the new Shapeoko.
