Pi Day

Pi Day concludes Teen Tech Week this weekend, March 14th, at Ben May Main Library downtown Mobile from 10AM-1PM. Mobile Public Library has partnered with Mobile Makerspace to demonstrate member projects including drones, 3D printers, Ardruinos and of course Raspberry Pi projects. Mobile Public Library is giving out AWESOME door prizes.

Kick Off event had a great turn out. People are always mesmerized the first time seeing 3D printers.

Open Hours Change

The new schedule for open hours is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 6-9PM. Community Members may use the space and tools during this time. This is also the time for visitors to stop in for a tour and check the space out.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night open hours continue to be popular. The big tools we have in operation are the laser engraver, Shapeoko CNC router and Makerbot 3D printer. Josh’s ultimate woodworking bench is coming along nicely.

Worldwide Meteor Day

Come join the Mobile Makerspace group for Worldwide Meteor Day!

The whole Meteor community is holding simultaneous meetups around the world on Nov 6, open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the Meteor platform. You’ll get to meet developers who have built things with Meteor here in Mobile, play with the new Meteor examples and tutorial, and have Q&A via Hangout with a core developer and/or developers from the community. Be sure to bring your laptops for the deploy fest and open coworking.

Register for the event here.
